Soul Gives Back to the Community: A few months ago, Danny wrote a blog post about the important relationship between Crossfit and community. I’m paraphrasing a bit, but in short his message was and still is; that community needs to be the central focus of a gym’s program. This past weekend, more than ever, Team Soul wholeheartedly lived up to that ideal. We hosted an adoption event which focused on giving back to the community. But we didn’t do it alone. Our members contributed to the success of the event in a big way. Many of them came out to support us by volunteering their time on a beautiful, sunny Sunday; and we thank you so very much! A special thanks goes to David Bialski (and his team) from Knowles Animal Clinic, Katrina Diez from Misha’s Cupcakes, and Christian Diez, General Manager of Mash Potatoes Restaurant. They provided different type of donations varying from dog medication, toys and leashes to food and cupcakes for the guests and adopting families. This added a special element to the event that wouldn’t have been possible without their help. Thank you! Danny also led a free group class where some people who had never done Crossfit tried it for the first time. This was one of the many magical moments of the day. I watched him coach a teenaged boy and his mother through basic functional movements with the same passion and drive as he coached an elite games athlete just moments earlier. Instantly, I gained a new level of understanding of what Soul truly is. Here, we want to make everyone better, healthier and more fit regardless of who they are or where they come from. At Soul, we aim to introduce fitness into the lives of people. We encourage them to want to be healthy just as much as we want a healthy and fit lifestyle for them. Most importantly, we want to build a healthy and positive community that thrives together and gives back. I invite you to join us in our journey.
